Key West spring, the tarpon are biting!

Stephanie and Andrew came to Key West with big fish on their mind. That is exactly what they got. We started out in the harbor looking around for a sign of the tarpon. I marked some fish under the boat so we anchored up and put out the baits and began chumming for the silver kings. After a few minutes of chumming we saw some tarpon rolling in front of the boat so we pulled the anchor and reset in front of the fish. It only took a few minutes before we rewarded with a 120 pound monster tarpon jumping and ripping line off the screaming reel. Stephanie did her best to fight the monster but having recently broken her leg made it nearly impossible to finish the monster. Andrew stepped in and finished the fight. We went back and grabbed the anchor and were chumming when we got another short lived bite.It was then Andrews turn to fight a tarpon to the boat. We got the leader shortly before the hook pulled for another release. The last bite was another really big one that unfortunately got wrapped around something on the bottom before breaking off. Spring in Key West means tarpon and what could be more fun than a charter of big hard fighting monsters in the warm sun while the folks in the north dream of warm weather.key West flats fishing Key West flats fishing key West back country fishing charters
